Cut Flower Care
A few tips to help your bouquets last longer.
The following are some tips to help your fresh cut flower bouquet last as long as possible.
When cutting your own flowers:
Cut them in the coolest part of the day
Cut them at the proper stage for each particular flower (some flowers you want cut in a bud stage for longest vase life. Some like zinnias and some foliage last longer if cut when more mature) I will have some information available at my garden to help determine the best time to cut everything I grow.
All bouquets:
Make sure the container that you are putting your flowers in is clean, clean enough to drink out of
Add the provided packet of flower food, it provides food for the flowers to keep the colors vibrant and also has disinfectant to help keep the water clean
Trim an inch off the end of the stems and cut on an angle after a few days and change the water to keep it clean
Place your bouquet in a spot out of direct sunlight and the cooler the better
Remove any spent flowers or blooms from the vase
